Gather around everyone, for Christmas is right around the corner! It’s always a joyful season as we begin to prepare for the celebration of Christ, the greatest gift unto us. Life is filled with decorations, carols, as joy and laughter rings around the halls of our churches and homes. It is often a time we catch ourselves reminiscing, thinking of how 2025 seems to have moved on so fast for many of us. But amidst this hustle and bustle, Ps Wilson and Ps Lai Ling would like to remind us again of the true meaning of Christmas.
The Story behind Christmas
As we all know, the Christmas story is one of wonder and awe. Jesus made his entrance into this world as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords in the form of a little child. However, his purpose was not small, for it was to be the Saviour of all mankind. What does that really mean? It means that He didn’t just come for some stranger, He came for us! He came for our families! He came for our friends, our collegues, and everyone around us! The greatest gift known to man is specifically sent for you! And all of this was to ensure that we may experience a life abundant, with the freedom from the power of sin. So that we can all experience the grace of God as we life a life supernaturally enabled by the Holy Spirit.
A Wonderful Motivation
Now, with such a wonderful gift presented unto us, a gift that keeps overflowing, isn’t it perfect to be shared to those around us? Ps Wilson speaks about how this wonderful gift of Jesus in our lives should motivate us to share Him, so that we can reach out with God’s love! That this gift will motivate us to pray unceasingly for the many souls that are desperately in need of Christ in this Christmas season. So this year, as we go about our many church activities and events, let us continue to look to God for an oppurtunity to touch lives, to transform the lives of those we encounter.
Wrapping Up with Thanks
With that in mind, this is also the time for thankfulness, as we wrap up this year to take our first steps into 2026. Let’s take some time to refresh ourselves and reflect on God’s many goodness throughout the year. Let us count our blessings, think of all the times where God was there for us, even if we did not see it in the moment. Truly He is a God who has never left us, nor forsaken us. So as we enter 2026, let us walk in with the hope of a fresh insight, a renewed drive and a strengthened faith for even greater things!
Looking forward with Hope
In line with that, Ps Lai Ling encourages us to all start the year with HIM Global Fast and Prayer, which will take place from 12-15 January 2026. Come gather as a family on Facebook live at 9:30pm (GMT+10 Brisbane) so that we can start the year the right way, with God as the focus. This would be a wonderful time to gather your life group, your friends, to pray and seek the face of God together, so that we may all be strengthened to saturate for the purposes of God!
Another major event that we will be starting 2026 with is the Global Leadership Conference 2026 (GLC26) that will take place in Bangkok, Thailand this time around. Many of the leaders from HIM churches across the globe will be gathering for an exciting time of equipment and renewing friendships across generations and borders. So let us keep the attendees in prayer for a time of encounter as they seek the Lord. Cover the conference and our leaders in prayer so that they are able to be renewed and refreshed with this conference, so that they can do even greater things for God in the coming year.
Ps Wilson and Ps Lai Ling wrap up this message with a note, that they are looking forward to seeing all of you in different ways from now and throughout 2026. And from all of us in HIM, we would like to wish you a blessed Christmas, and a wonderful New Year 2026! God bless!
