Course Description

Basic counseling involves ministering collaboratively with individuals who need help in solving problems that are holding them back from leading a fulfilling life in Christ. Through this course, you will be with approaches to basic counseling skills. The course will introduce biblical counselling theories and practical application to conduct counselling. This is a 6-hour course over 1 day.

Course Outcomes

1) Apply basic counseling skills. (Life station, decision making, conflicts resolutions, emotional concerns)
2) Minister to the heartfelt needs of individuals.

Pre-Requisite

Completed discipleship training (up to LGL) conducted by local churches of Hope International Ministries.

Ps Lai Ling

Pastor Lai Ling co-founded Hope Church Brisbane and is known for her leadership in intercession and prophetic ministries in HIM and Hope Church. She is also passionate about pastoral care and counselling. She is a certified practicing accountant and holds Diplomas in Biblical Studies & Ministry and Counselling. Lai Ling is happily married to Pastor Wilson, they have three children Paul, Daniel and Deborah.

Eddie Burrell

Eddie has been involved in Men’s mentoring for seven years. He is passionate about discipling men to be men after God- to help them experience breakthroughs in their personal and spiritual lives, becoming the person that God wants them to be. At his work he also carries the role of Peer Support Officer to provide support for the various colleagues’ needs. In his spare time he enjoys gardening and hanging out with his wife.

Sarah Andrews

Sarah is a leader within Hope Church Brisbane, currently involved in nurturing, guiding and equipping those within the university ministry, chiefly within her life group as well as those she personally mentors. She also helps to equip and grow people in the church in the area of intercession and the prophetic. Out of the various studies she has completed, Sarah has graduated from a Certificate IV and Diploma of Multicultural Ministry, as well as from a Graduate Certificate in Theology. During which she first covered Basic Counselling. She has a passion to see the nations impacted for Jesus and to see the church walking in freedom and the fullness of her calling, including a heart to see people experience inner healing.
