The Unwanted Gift

While shops were blasting songs about wanting Christmas gifts, here at Hope Leeds, we decided to celebrate “The Unwanted Gift”. The gift of Christ to the world which came unwanted but very much needed; His gift of peace, light and salvation. Pastor Tino’s powerful preaching indeed touched many hearts that day, members and friends alike. All 162 in the room stood up for Christ. Many responded to the Word and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. The Holy Spirit continued to move us through the stirring praise and worship led by Jingle.

Sheila, one of our newest members, testified of God’s goodness and faithfulness during the trying time of adjusting in a new country as a nurse amidst a global pandemic. Other new nurses, led by Brian also blessed us with their singing talents as we enjoyed our Christmas dinner. Of course, no Christmas is complete without family games! Indeed, we managed to engage our children and new visitors too – shy as they were to start with. The day ended with everyone on their feet praising God with dance, celebrating His gift of life to us.
