Jesus did not come to be served, but serve. And during His time on earth, he did not just live this very notion by example, but also taught the disciples to serve as well.
So how should we serve in our lives? The Bible says in Colossians 3:23, that in whatever we do, we should do it with all our heart as working for the Lord. And it is through this that we are rewarded with an inheritance from the Lord. A servant just does his duties, but a faithful servant goes above and beyond to serve his master.
Last Easter weekend (2-6 April 2026), Hope Europe 1 gathered for their Regional Camp, centering around the theme “Legacy of a Faithful Servant”. Gathering members from Hope Newcastle, Hope Hatfield, Hope Milton Keynes, Hope Sunderland, HIM London, and Hope Remote, the camp was a powerful time of encountering God through worship and meaningful fellowship, growing together as one family, and being equipped to live out their calling.
Anchored in the Master
The camp began with Ps Eldos laying an important foundation to this idea of being a faithful servant, and that is to know the One we serve. During the first day sessions, he led the camp into an exploration of the servant-Master relationship with God. Before we can do anything for God’s Kingdom, we need to know our Master, for without it we cannot understand our mission to serve Him truly. It was a reminder that every servant’s legacy begins with intimacy, a personal relationship with God. Through worship, teaching, and quiet moments, many at the camp were drawn back to simply spending time with God and knowing His heart again, anchoring themselves in God.
The Five Marks
The second day of camp was led by Hansen, who shared about who we are becoming. The question was simple, what does a faithful servant actually look like in everyday life? In order to understand this, he shared with the group the Five Marks of a Faithful Servant, which are Obedient, Submissive, Trustworthy, Available and Repentant, as well as sharing stories of his ministry journey.
Forums were held in the morning to create a space for honest conversations and practical learnings. Participants engaged in group discussions on a wide range of topics, including understanding the Trinity, identifying spiritual gifts, asking how to be a Christian at work without being weird, methods of practicing a healthy Sabbath, overcoming anxiety and finding peace in Christ and more. It became a platform for people to ask questions, share openly and learn from one another.
In the afternoon, the participants joined different workshop streams, namely Knowing God, Ministry and Life. These workshops were aimed to help them think more intentionally about how to live out faith in different areas. Throughout the camp, there were also many ministry moments, times of prayer, altar calls, and prophetic impartations. Many people encountered God in personal ways, finding encouragement, clarity, and a fresh sense of direction.
In addition to the wonderful sessions, participants also had a blast with fun outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing, high ropes, and aerial challenges. It wasn’t just fun (though it definitely was), but also a chance to try something new, encourage one another, and build friendships along the way!
What Remains?
The third day of camp fell on Easter Sunday, where the participants were called to ponder a simple but important question…
“What will remain after us?”
A faithful servant’s legacy isn’t about titles or recognition, but about lives impacted, seeds sown, and simple obedience over time. The sharing continued to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, as one of the most impactful events to have ever happened for all of us! Matthias taught the participants to understand that the empty grave is not just a story or tradition, but an invitation for our lives to be changed by Jesus’ resurrection.
Another wonderful moment during this camp was the celebration of 16 brothers and sisters getting baptized, choosing to follow Him publicly. What a joyous occasion and a moment of heaven rejoicing! The celebration continued into the afternoon with Hope Got Talent, which brought lots of laughter and unexpected moments as different groups performed traditional dances, skits and stand-up comedy. In the evening, they gathered around for campfire fellowship, just spending time together, sharing stories, laughing, and enjoying the community we have.
Living the Legacy
The final day brought everything together with a call to action led by Nick. Legacy isn’t something we leave for the future—it’s something we build now. Through daily decisions, small acts of obedience, and a consistent walk with our Master, we begin shaping the legacy we will leave behind. The participants were encouraged to take practical steps forward, committing not just to inspiration, but to transformation.
Many were impacted by the ministry times, prophetic sessions, altar calls, and baptisms. There was a strong sense of God moving throughout the camp, with people responding to altar calls for Holy Spirit baptism and to be faithful disciple-makers. It was also encouraging to see new worship leaders and ministers stepping up to point people to Jesus and create space for people to genuinely encounter God. The teachings were both practical and relevant, and many found them speaking deeply into their hearts.
There’s something special about gathering like this, seeing God move, hearing stories, and being reminded we’re not alone in this journey. As Hope Europe 1 left camp, they carried a renewed faith and a simple call: to keep walking with Jesus, and to live out a legacy of faithfulness, one step at a time. So that leaves us with the question, what is our legacy of faithfulness going to be?
